This group works on developing the ski racing athlete through the guidelines recommended by USSki's Alpine Training System. The focus expands from basic ski racing drills to include tactics within a race course. There is an increase in the number of races racing for this age group: They compete in standard USSki open races and NHARA’s Eastern Division qualifying series in the Mount Washington Valley to advance to state-level competition. The primary focus for the U12s is on GS and SL racing.

Equipment needs: a full-shell helmet that covers the head and ears, without spoilers or edges that stick out (note U14 helmet standards); 1 pair of slalom (SL) skis; 1 pair of giant slalom (GS) skis; appropriate equipment for event specific training/racing.
